Waveteq achieves a major milestone.  Waveteq’s Shadow Series Wi-Fi Equipment Meets Rural Utilities Services Buy American Requirement.

On October 27, 2009, Russel Fields, President and CEO of Waveteq Communications Inc., announced that Waveteq had achieved a major milestone.  They have been granted acceptance of the Shadow series of access points, intelligent repeaters and Customer Premise Equipment by the “Technical Standards Committee “A”-Telecommunications” of the Rural Utilities Services (RUS), an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture charged with providing utilities (electricity, water, telephone, sewer) to rural areas of the United States via public and private partnerships.

“This means that the road is now clear for us to sell through and with partners into the US rural broadband initiative programs and is a culmination of hard work and perseverance by our Sales and Marketing team.” states Russel Fields, “I congratulate them on the achievement!”

Having worked directly on a number of projects in Canada to help deliver Internet series to remote and hard to reach communities, Waveteq has success in providing engineered solutions for tough, rural environments.  The RUS acceptance under the “BUY AMERICAN” clause will allow the Company to expand its base into the US market supported by a unique skill set and experiential base.

SIDIT is pleased to have partnered with Waveteq Communications Inc.   Broadband internet connectivity is a strategically important economic development driver, particularly for rural and remote communities.
