Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust (SIDIT) provides $30,000 grant to KettleValley Railway Society

Kamloops. Jim Thomson, Chair of the Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust (SIDIT), announced today a $30,000 grant to the Kettle Valley Railway to assist in facility upgrades.

“Our mandate is to help grow and diversify the economy of the Southern Interior of British Columbia” states Mr. Thomson.  “SIDIT is pleased to support the Kettle Valley Railway as one of the premier tourist attractions in the region which makes a significant contribution to the local economy”.

Presentation of the cheque is planned for 10:00AM, May 26 at the KVR station, Summerland.

In attendance will be Penticton Mayor Jake Kimberley, SIDIT Board member and SIDIT, CEO Ron Baker.

SIDIT is a Public Trust created by the Province of British Columbia with a $50 million allocation to support economic development in the Southern Interior. Governed by a 13 member Board of Directors representing local government and the private sector, SIDIT focuses on opportunities that demonstrate measurable and sustainable economic benefits.
