Annual General Meeting
SIDIT’s fourth annual General Meeting was held at the Municipal Offices of the City of Salmon Arm on June 23, 2010. The meeting was open to the public and thank you to the several company representatives that made presentations to the Board.

Hon. Ben Stewart is the new Minister of Community and Rural Development.
Ben Stewart was elected as MLA for Westside-Kelowna on May 12, 2009.
He previously served as Minister of Citizens’ Services and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and the Public Affairs Bureau since June 10, 2009.
Before being elected, Ben Stewart was an entrepreneur who founded and built Quails’ Gate into one of Canada’s leading estate wineries.
Minister Stewart has extensive board experience. Some of the Boards included the Venture Capital Fund, BC Grape and Marketing Board, Canadian Vintners Association, Kelowna Hospital Foundation and the Presidents Community Advisory Council at UBC Okanagan.
Ben Stewart has been recognized as Business Leader of the Year in Kelowna in 1998, received the Westbank Chamber of Commerce President’s Award in 2006, and recognized as Family Business of the Year by Grant Thornton in 2007. He also received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for Community Service. He was a Kinsman, a scout leader and a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol.
